So what do you guys think? I didn't have a chance to watch the whole broadcast yesterday because of streaming issues, but it was funny to hear the "audience" clap, cheer, and whistle at every feature. It's perhaps a smart marketing move IMO that they decided to feature cable television. It would be a way to coerce non-gamers to invest in the box as a multirole media device. Hardware seems decent, although I would have preferred 12GB or maybe even 16GB of memory just for that added leverage. Memory is cheap these days, so it wouldn't have bumped the cost that much more. Voice commands... heh, that will probably need some work. I can imagine a house filled with hyper children yelling for control over the device :)

I thought it looked pretty slick. It was a good idea building in Kinect so game companies know everyone has one when they write games for it. I didn't see any mistakes, really. I think it will be popular. Gesture controls and voice controls looked pretty cool. I think it will appeal to a lot of people that are non gamers or casual gamers. I guess the price point remains to be the only thing that could take away from it. If it's relatively inexpensive, I think it will be a winner. One key thing will be straightening out xbox live so amateurs and indies write games for it. I bought a lot of shares of AMD at about 2.50 and it's currently at 4.00, so I'm pretty happy. Of course, you never actually make money till you sell.
Currently using Blender and Unity.

I thought it was ok, but 75% of it's features would be wasted on me, don't like hand waving or voice recog just give me a controller. tv well I barley watch it anymore (hate reality shows and any decent sitcoms get canned too early and I've seen enough adverts for 2 lifetimes lol). sport... never a fan. really don't like always online (or needing a connection to play). I guess I'm not there target market anyway but strange that more focus was on features that have nothing to do with games for a gaming console. I'll just stick with a PC it can already do most of what this console can do (not a pc fan boy comment just my opinion as a gamer).

I keep thinking about what will happen if you connect a xbox one to a smart TV and both of them support voice rec and gesture rec

Will they fight it out, two little stick men smacking each other about, or will all devices ship with a voice sample of BA Baracus saying "you talking to me?"

What happens if you are talking, does it constantly listen and send a text version to the fbi every time you say something bad about a politician? Maybe that's why it needs to be always online

How long before someone hacks it and posts everything you say online

How many videos of celebrities playing dance dance nation 27 in their underware will appear on utub

shit design
shit idea
shit company

formed by a corrupt arsehole with no technical knowledge but an evil knack for business, never grew up
