Just curious what tips you guys have. I'm looking to go to college in about 2 years, and am going to be applying for a ton of places (Anywhere from MIT to Maryland to Yale to Cal Tech). I've currently got a 4.0 gpa, but haven't taken the ACT/SAT yet. I'm also involved with a lot of extracurriculars. Any advice what so ever would be appreciated!

P.S.: Any advice on getting internships, etc? I know C++ and Java

It depends on the type of position you want, but I would strongly recommend you take a lot of math courses. There are a few reasons why this will help:

- 3D/vector math is extremely useful
- It shows employers you are smart
- It makes reading graphic/physics papers a lot easier as they often like to use math heavy terminology
- Being good at proofs will help with some of the higher level algorithm courses you're likely required to take

The other advice would be to work on projects at home and try to have at least one fully completed project you can show employers.

if you want to understand the papers out there, maths is so important... i have not very good maths and i have a hard time understanding anything, so i have to develop things on my own instead, its a total bitch if your maths illiterate.
you used to be able to fit a game on a disk, then you used to be able to fit a game on a cd, then you used to be able to fit a game on a dvd, now you can barely fit one on your harddrive.
