Hey everyone...

My name is Shawn and I am developing text-based games. I thought I might as well join up :)

Other than my games, I am big into website development and I run quite a few forums. I love cycling and I chase storms.

Thanks for having me and I look forward to a great membership here :D

Hi Shawn, welcome aboard. So you're into text based games eh? Are you just starting out in the world of gaming or do you just fancy text games? I use to be a MUD player back in the day, but that's ancient history :) Since you're into website development, have you looked into HTML5 for web gaming?

I am just starting out but I also have a knack for text based games :) I like to read and write, so I thought what the heck. I am using a forum software to make the game if you can believe it :D SMF 2.0 (freeware) so I don't have to spend so much time coding a membership area and so on. However, if the game does well, maybe 2.0 will have its own engine. HTML5 looks good for making games :) and is something I'd like to look into! I just don't know that much about making animated graphics, I would be the lowest n00b on the ladder for that part, haha. However, open to tips and that!

Thanks for the welcome... out of 3 forums i joined, this forum is the friendliest so I think I will stick around at this one :)

text games are great, theres been many a grand text based rpg, i love them, :)
you used to be able to fit a game on a disk, then you used to be able to fit a game on a cd, then you used to be able to fit a game on a dvd, now you can barely fit one on your harddrive.
