"speed edit" a new lowpoly modeller animator scene builder, just coming together after a few days.
Posted Image
doesnt look like much, but im proud to present the bare beginnings of my fresh little hand painted low poly modeller! you should be able to see a bit of potential in this one, ive only spent 5 or so days on it but ive just got the painting half working, it doesnt even save the work yet. The modeller itself is based apon bent voxels which was this nifty idea i had for making lowpoly shapes.

It wont be done till ive got animation and full scenes going, hopefully in the next 3 days there will be a lot more progress. exactly next is saving the textures, which isnt done yet. Its a nice foggy brush, good for painting occlusions.

If everything goes to plan itll be a low poly modeller + animator + scene builder, all it needs is a game engine attached to it and i could sell it off to newbies to make games with. (artisticly minded teenagers that are full bore interested in games, im thinking would be the target audience.)

Because the scenes will all be modular, itll be better for interiors than exteriors, but i hope to try some exterior stuff with it.
you used to be able to fit a game on a disk, then you used to be able to fit a game on a cd, then you used to be able to fit a game on a dvd, now you can barely fit one on your harddrive.

The models are minecraft like models that have been bent out of just plain cube shape. Doing it this way means inserting new detail means all i need to do is insert another row of blocks. They suit lowpoly handpainted models.

That's looking really spiffy actually. I dig the retro style to the meshes :)
