Just finished first semester of my first year of game design at university.
Getting bored here now not doing anything.

What should i try learning as a hobby?

If you don't know a language, I would suggest Python.
A modeler, like Blender, might be a good idea, also, unless you are scheduled to learn one, then you should pick that.

Currently using Blender and Unity.

practice some art like zbrush or photoshop, thats always useful.
you used to be able to fit a game on a disk, then you used to be able to fit a game on a cd, then you used to be able to fit a game on a dvd, now you can barely fit one on your harddrive.

The following languages are in IMHO decreasing order of importance in our field
Native languages: C/C++, D
Managed languages: C#, Java
Scripting languages: Lua, Python, Ruby
An apparently trivial yet interesting (and not that easy) homework:
- embed a high-level language into a lower-level one e.g. Lua into C, Python into C, etc
