you used to be able to fit a game on a disk, then you used to be able to fit a game on a cd, then you used to be able to fit a game on a dvd, now you can barely fit one on your harddrive.

I worked it out, its about 8 times faster than a gtx 480, they doubled the speed to get to the 580- then doubled again, 680- then two 680s is a 690.

Glad you have new hardware and you enjoy the performance(although not that impressive considering it's price per performance ratio compared to the cheaper NVidia cards in SLI : P)
but you're performance scaling dream is way off. : P
GTX 580 is only about 15-18% faster than a 480 GTX.
and GTX 680 is about 15-20% faster than a 580.
Not near 2x the performance per generation, and certainly no 8x

yeh, i spose, i quickly went and implemented ambient occlusion, and your right... still too much work for it...
but the card seems to run quite quietly, which is heaps different than the gtx 480. im still experimenting with some raytracing, actually i got a question up if you know the answer thanks.
cya.
