Hi I am just starting to get into middleware such as FMod and Wwise?
I want to focus on one at a time, any advise on which to start on?
Also does anyone have any advice on good books on either? I have found the youtube links but I learn better with books.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I could recommend another one - OpenAL 
Anyway I also tried FMod and it was quite simple to use it - so if you want to learn, try both - implementing middleware is quite simple (you can even implement both and let user decide which one to use
).

If you don't know how to speed up application, go "roarrrrrr!", hit the compiler with the club and use -O3 :D

They are both very good and equaly powerfull. I'd maybe go with FMOD first since their interface is more clean and clear fo a begginer.
