starting an fps game

It just started off as a little map demo, now I want to turn it into a game.
Ive got collision detection, instancing, a large maximum map size (enough for an mmo), animation isnt implemented yet, so basicly i do the animation, get the dudes running around, give them guns, then i have to write the ai for the npcs.
I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts or suggestions, what do you think of the screenshot? its about a months work so far. (I have another thread, realtime fire+ice, thats when I started this, about a month ago) but next on the list is running walking animation and getting the dudes to run around like in an fps.
Im using 3d coat for hipoly graphics, i convert to lowpoly normal mapped automatically on import into the engine.

just adding animation and fixing collision detection bugs, hopefully get that done by tomorrow... then the only main thing left is ai!
it kinda reminds me of doom, so im wondering if i should add some green nukage.

You are coming up on the wall now.
You have something that looks really nice, you are really enjoying it, now you are down to "then the only main thing left is ai!"
Then there is a GUI, player input, loading screens , title menu, game over screen, options screen, pause, sound effects, music, network code, load save game, .....
It's looking great, keep at it. Yell at us if you get stuck, or if you just get frustrated and need to vent steam. I certainly have a thick skin and you can throw as many <expletives deleted> at me as you need to.

heres the startings of a terrain to go with the buildings, ive got this really cool idea to have separate uv coordinates for each terrain layer, that way i can splat curving roads on the surface.

Yeah, or just "making" the game. There's a little reward in putting it up someplace and having other people play it, but mostly it's putting something together and making it bigger and more polished. I'm not much of a game player, really, so this is what I do to challenge myself. I took a break from it for a while and got pretty bored.

Have to admit. I got a little silly.
We used to go to the pub every lunchtime and every evening after work, then as we got more "corporate", that all stopped.
Now, well as I said, I got silly. I bought a pub, and one thing led to another, and now I have four.
That's a hell of a lot of stress relief.
