Interesting technology, but horrible ergonomics.

I'm not sure how it would work ergonomically. It probably wouldn't be a lot different than someone who talks with their hands. At least it's something I can picture myself doing as opposed to dancing in front of a computer screen.

Reminds me of the movie Minority Report with Tom Cruise when he's flipping screens with his hands. Very cool tech, although one major problem. Monitor screens are too small. To really have the desired effect, we need to mass market large cheap screens (preferably with the new flexiglass material). For this device to be effective, a screen should be at least arms length in width and height. I could definitely see some private sector companies benefit from this, so it's likely to target them first.

Hmm, someone should e-mail the guy and tell him to patent his motions for zooming and flipping before someone beats him to it :D

That's what it's come to. Someone probably has a patent on scratching his nose. Remember when they used to actually represent an invention?

There are a set of lightweight glasses now that project directly into the eyes.

The effect is the same as having a 14 FOOT by 10 FOOT screen 18 feet in front of you.

Not sure how it interacts with real world objects, but that with my old 3d camera based gesture system, ... minority report seems crap all of a sudden. :D

You mean back in the 1700s? :)
Hyperbole is, like, the absolute best, most wonderful thing ever! However, you'd be an idiot to not think dogmatism is always bad.
