Spend one week studying a genre of music that is out of your comfort zone, and the next week, compose/record a track in that style. For example, I'm not so great with latin music, so that's what I'll be working on this week. Continue this two week process until there isn't a genre you can't compose. What's awesome about this, is that you'll pretty much never run out of things to try, because you will learn more about a style of music through others styles, and need to learn how to combine compositional ideas from other styles. You have a particular sound, which is great, everyone should have there own unique voice, however having many different voices gives you more opportunity in the game industry. Also, it's super fun.
