We at Mixamo just compiled a list of the top 10 free resources for indie devs. Many of our users are making game/apps for little or no cost up front at all. We thought it would be helpful to perhaps share some of these freebies for those who might not know of them all.

Great list. I am personally using 6 of those 10 now.

I'd like to throw in LMMS for music. It's like the free version of fruityloops and it's very good, especially with many of the free VST plugins out there (see dskmusic.com). Algorithmic has a free procedural texture generator that isn't too bad, but it looks like they offer a commercial alternative now.
http://www.nutty.ca - Being a nut has its advantages.

Thanks for the tip about LMMS, TheNut. I've been looking for something like that. Been having a look at ModPlug right now but not getting too far.
Currently using Blender and Unity.
