I am looking for a website or service that allows the creating of teams of people to work together on projects they are interested in. Right now, I have an idea for a MMORPG but I want to create a team of designers/programmers/etc. to being working on it. I was wondering if anyone knew of a website that helps out to do just that?

No. First of all, people looking for teams generally have zero capital and are basically asking for donated labor that will be payed back when the proposed games sells oodles of subscriptions. Most experienced people have heard that pitch a million times and know what comes of it. The failure rate for MMO's is over 90 percent. There aren't very many games sites around. There's this and Gamedev, and someone comes by trying to get a team together ever couple weeks.
There is a site called Kickstarter that tries to get money for games lined up, but that would be after you found your team. Generally, an MMO for a first project is a very bad idea because they are one of the most complicated types of games to make and require the most resources. There are getting to be more engines specifically developed for MMO's that are reasonable, such as Hero Cloud, although I don't think it's out yet.
Anyway, from my experience, teams sort of happen and start smaller. People that know design, etc, find people that program and do art and do projects together and it gradually grows sometimes. One of the big problems for designers is that people that can do other things usually have their own ideas for design. Programmers and artists generally aren't looking for a designer even though they are important if they are creative. Personally, I would either learn art or programming so I had a little more to contribute, and I would try to come up with ideas for a small game that you can test the waters with before committing to an MMO. If you can't come up with ideas for a small game, you are probably not designer material. Small games can be posted on Kongregate, or sold on XBLIG, or Steam, or you can make games for iPhone. Also, hanging around engine sites, art sites, will introduce you to more people who are capable and probably design games for a hobby or wouldn't mind trying. It does pay to be a little forward if you find someone kind of talented. Send them a PM and ask them if they would like to do a project you have in mind. The worst they can do is say no.
Currently using Blender and Unity.
