A coworker sent around the link to this: A trip through the Graphics Pipeline 2011. It's a behind-the-scenes account of how modern GPUs work at the hardware level...underneath all the stuff that the API and drivers do to insulate you from it. It's a good read if you're interested in engineering details (and generally familiar with 3D graphics APIs). :yes:
