Ok, well I am wanting to design video games and stuff with game design...

I checked out ITT Tech and DeVry both. I heard they weren't that good of schools to find a job in. Can someone tell me the best college to go to for game design? I live in FL so somewhere around there please!

Id suggest staying away from schools like ITT and DeVry. I made the mistake of getting an Asociates degree from Remington College (ITT/Devry type) and it has never even helped me get an interview, I paid 23K for a piece of paper I might as well use as toilet paper. A more traditional school that offers a 4 year degree is best. Dont worry so much about the game aspect of the degree you can always "self" teach yourself that aspect when you get the programming down. And minor in a visual arts of some kind.

Well thats my 2 cents

What you said is very true. I think personally, it would be better to get the traditional IT degree that Game design degree. I found a lot of employer does not want anyone with game degree. I think it got to do with Skills. Traditional IT degreed holder may be more versatile compare to specialized degree like game. This i was told

I find the only reason to attend a Game Design specialty school is if the school is heavily staffed by people form, or better, in the industry. The networking opportunity is invaluable.

If that's not an option, I'd stay with a more versatile CS degree.

I personally would prefer to see a generalist degree, but an awesome portfolio esp. if arrived at independently and not via homework.
Hyperbole is, like, the absolute best, most wonderful thing ever! However, you'd be an idiot to not think dogmatism is always bad.

Wel, I'm sort of biased here.

I find that DAE (Digital Arts & Entertainment) is a good start. But then again, I'm following this course so, biased :)

However, it would depend on what angle you wanted to go.

Design? Go to a classical school. More and more game companies are looking for concept artists/level designers/... with a classical education.

Programming? So many options. Engine? Low-Level? High-Level? ... Just make sure that you have a concrete knowledge of the most used languages (C,C++,Java,Python,...) and self educate yourself further.

3D? Animation School, Digital Design, etc.. Again, good ground knowledge is the key here. Rest is just tweaking some basic rules (Optimizing and such).

The thing that I like about my education, is that it starts with a little bit of everything, and then gets further into what you want.

Id still prefer a game oriented course, even if its basicly a toilet paper degree - or id never make it through all the boring lectures... im sure its better than nothing. What alphadog says is true tho, if your teacher is a bit of a wiz bang developer himself, it could be good to go nevertheless.
you used to be able to fit a game on a disk, then you used to be able to fit a game on a cd, then you used to be able to fit a game on a dvd, now you can barely fit one on your harddrive.
