Hyperbole is, like, the absolute best, most wonderful thing ever! However, you'd be an idiot to not think dogmatism is always bad.

ChevyRay, the author of FlashPunk, got No.1. That's pretty cool. It's nice to see an author of an engine actually using it.
Currently using Blender and Unity.

For me, the clear winner is McPixel :) That game simply kicks ass. Other than that, I missed this event, but I'm looking forward to the next one.

The best (maybe only) way to make a useful engine, is to have games drive its development. Anyone who makes an engine in isolation - with the intention of later, when it is done, using it to make a game - is doing it wrong :P

And in addition, ChevyRay usually makes quite good games!

Yeah, I agree. I've seen people that couldn't write a decent game, write engines, but they wrote demo's and got a lot of input from other people using it to write games.
Currently using Blender and Unity.
