I see thanks button in many vBulletin forums and I think its a good feature for forum.

You mean a thanks button for each post to thank the user? That does sound like a good idea.

As long as it does not get spammy (e.g. only show number of thanks, dont list all users) it sounds good.

you used to be able to fit a game on a disk, then you used to be able to fit a game on a cd, then you used to be able to fit a game on a dvd, now you can barely fit one on your harddrive.

We'll be revamping the entire site soon, including the forum software. The new forum software has the common social networking features all integrated, including "Like" buttons, which should achieve the same purpose.
