compiler: MSCV++ 6.0

i've attempted to complete the OpenAL Lesson 1 tutorial. my result is that there is no sound output at all (i even downloaded the lesson 1 source code and compiled it but received the same result). i've downloaded the OpenAL distribution via CVS and recompiled it. i know it works, because i've run the OpenALDemo project that comes with the source code and it works just fine. is the code from the lesson deprecated in some way? what could i be doing wrong?

fyi i finally got it working. apparently the libraries i built from the OpenAL CVS distro didnt work properly. when i installed the OpenAL SDK from http://developer.creative.com/ my program worked like a charm :D
