Hi guys I own a text based mafia game and had it for almost a year now. I dont know chit about coding but ive come a long way and think i've upgraded from noob status but I can only do simple changes in existing code. My game is setup with PHP with a Mysql database. I would like to add certain changes that require more indepth coding and I'm wondering If there is a link online that would give basics on mmorpg game coding. I've looked all over and I am unable to find helper sites that I can learn on my own for this particular language...

You should probably read some general books/tutorials on PHP/MySQL for web apps, of which there are plenty, both online and in print. Here is one good one. This is a foundation you'll need to be able to understand how the game works. Web games are not fundamentally different from any other sort of web app, especially when they are text-based.

Yeh, if your making a web based game, youd probably learn more from your average asp book than a game programming book!
you used to be able to fit a game on a disk, then you used to be able to fit a game on a cd, then you used to be able to fit a game on a dvd, now you can barely fit one on your harddrive.
