LoseThos is a free, 64-bit, open source operating system. It was written from scratch and is totally unlike any other. It includes a 64-bit compiler. It is clean with no legacy bloat.
You might try it if you want to see something exotic and mind opening. How about source code that can include graphics and html-like links!
Burn a CD from the ISO and boot it, or use VMWare. It's a live CD, so you can test drive or install, if you like.
