I am curious if anyone knows of a fast board state evaluator in GO. I know the KGS server has one that evaluates the board in well under 1 second. I e-mailed the creator of this and he said the sources code wouldn't be shared and was not for sale. The GNU go one seems to take several seconds because it involves multiple moves of look-ahead, but maybe it can be stripped down somehow? Anyway, I am just looking for something that can do a quick evaluation of how many points each side has

KGS uses cgoban2. afaik cgoban1 is open source and freely available
If Prolog is the answer, what is the question ?
