I'm looking for a raycasting engine, similar to Doom or Build, but with support for modern graphics (24 bit PNGs, for example) and sound (OGG, MP3). Not exactly those, but you know what i mean.
Is there anything laying around? I already checked the available Doom and Build ports, but not only they are a mess, i don't want to be bound to the GPL.

Is it so important you ray cast? A build map can be represented with polys and it works even better... Ken Silverman himself made an opengl port of his engine and im pretty sure he just stitched triangles together around the sectors, unless you really want to raycast cause its different.
you used to be able to fit a game on a disk, then you used to be able to fit a game on a cd, then you used to be able to fit a game on a dvd, now you can barely fit one on your harddrive.

As an alternative, it doesn't take long to build one yourself. There is an excellent tutorial I followed to build my own raycasting engine here
