Hi guys, I'm asking for a question for a friend, and we have been searching around to no real luck. He is using 3Ds max (sometimes zBrush) and we need a proper way to convert obj or 3Ds to .x files. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

ps. Please do not point me to the directX converter in the sdk. If you absolutley must, please provide clear instructions on how to use it. I've been all over the net and never got the thing to even slightly work.

There are some plugins, like Panda

Or KWX

Both worked for me before I started to use Blender, which comes with a built-in X exporter. =)

Just import the OBJ into Max then export to X.

One thing about the .x exporter for Blender, it only exports one animation, the one that happens to be active. I've gotten around it by copy paste if I needed more. It's just a text file. The animations are on the bottom. That's unless it was fixed in this latest version.
Currently using Blender and Unity.
