I have looked all over the steam site and sent emails to valve contact email and can see nothing that talks about how you can contact steam to sell your game on it.
Dose anyone know where you are meant to contact them for this? All the other big online game store were easy to get in contact with.
Anyone know how to sell games on steam?

Only an idiot has no marketing strategies worked out before the completion of the title. If you have no idea who to sell your game there is no point in making it as your goals as a product for people to buy will directly affect the game itself.
I just found that store box games from standard publishers for our last title was such a disaster.. it even cost me money that this time we would like to use online store system like BigFish or Steam

If you are making a commercial game, this is very true, if not-so-diplomatically said.
Reminds me, about a year ago I sat on a plane next to guy who talked my ear off about some software product he was going to start selling. Very enthusiastic and got me engaged.
So, I asked: "Who's your target market?"
He replied: "The consumer."
:surprise:
I politely half-listened for another five minutes, wished him luck, and then made motions towards my laptop...

I am sure they don't let you just sell anything. They must do an evaluation of what you made before they let you sell it there...
