Im planning on implementing a hsds modelling application, I looked around the net but couldnt find much except 3dsmax tutorials, is there anyone here who has done this before?

Hierarchical subdivision surface.
Basicly its subdivision and averaging, creating a smooth surface, but inbetween levels your allowed to tweak vertex positions to grant it detail.
If youve ever heard of zbrush, thats a hsds modeller, sculpters all use hsds.
