Project name:
Chain of Command
Brief description:
Chain of Command (CoC) is a multiplayer, semi-persistent, strategic military simulation. It is conceptually similar to theater scale turn-based board games, but is implemented on a global scale. It encompasses WWII-era sea, air, and land actions, yet incorporates those elements into a truly strategic model which can be adapted to fit both historic and fictional global conflicts.
In Chain of Command, each warring nation’s military forces are commanded by several players, who work together as a team; assuming command of military units as they function within unique, player-defined chains of command. CoC is designed to host more simultaneous players than any other strategic war game ever created. They will issue orders to the military units assigned to them (which are scaled to a brigade / squadron / individual ship level) as they communicate with other player-commanders to coordinate their unit’s movements on a gigantic, richly detailed, hex-tiled world map.
This project is midway through the development stage, having completed a rigorous design phase in which no less than 6 ww2 subject-matter-experts combs over every design detail. The game system is documented in over 350 pages of professionally-authored specification documents.
Target aim:
Retail - Fee for Service
Compensation:
In your email please specify your rates and the rough time you need to compose approx 2-4 minutes of music.
Technology:
That's up to you!
Talent needed:
I need an experienced composer to create 2 (to start with) seperate compositions. To go along with the ww2 theme of the title, the music should be "militaristic" sounding (orchestral, brass, winds, drums?). please refer to the opening soundtrack for Band of Brothers, and like military games and movies. I envision something somber and moving, perhaps building to a crescendo. Follow up requirements might include sound bites and other short compositions.
Team structure:
I currently have a team of 2 design editors, 4 content editors and 1 programmer -myself. We’ve also had other programmers jump on/off the project at various times. The musical scores and graphics are funded privately (I am currently accepting bids for these).
