:nod: mm, exactly! I just got my new coark board with 20 pins cause the old was too small! The new one is 60x40 cm and is quite cool i must say! Now i have twice the space for sticky and pinned notes!

You might be laughting but a pin board is actually one of the programmers beast friends! Do you also use such stuff? :blush:

Exactly the same here :D . Howeer i use Notepad 2. It's a little extended version supporting syntax-highlighting and other cool stuff. But it's as simple, usefuland and handy-dany as the original!

Well.. since my pin-board is above my pc, i like to keep my coding schemes, so i can see them all. Pretty usefull when coding! Well, i use it also for sticky notes, yeah.

I have tried notepad replacements before but always went back to the original.

I will give Notepad2 a breif chance to win me over, but it is unlikely.

I only have 2 complaints about the original note pad (most software I can complain about for days on end):
1) When I use ctrl+an arrow key, notepad moves to whitespace and doesn't break on many other characters such as ( or . or : which is annoying when slicing up code. Forces me to either use the mouse or tap left/right a bunch of times
2) With WinXP notepad has gotten unicode support. Which is good, but there is no easy way to toggle it. If I drag a file into notepad sometimes it has binary mumbo jumbo at the beginning that prevents the text in the file from being recognized as unicode and forces me to read words with spaces after every letter :-P

Notepad 2 seems nice, although it is unbeleivably HUGE.

552 KB vs 66 KB for the original Notepad

Dunno what he put in it...but I'm pretty sure he could remove a lot from it to make it competitive to Notepad ;)

Well mine is 566kb but i got the german version. However, Dave, i would really like to know how did you successed in compressing it 2!!! times?
