I'm new to most things programming but I was wondering if someone can show me a good editor to Create .bsp scenes with. I was originally looking into GtkRadiant but came to the conclusion that its more for modifying levels from preexisting games than creating them. I then began looking into getic3D here but realized I would have to create my own loader, I havent look to deep into BSP Editor HERE however. I do know that the converter my engine has says Quake3Converter which leads me to believe that it loads Quake 3 bsp version (which I don't know which version it uses)file structure. Can anyone inform me of a good bsp level editor I can use.

GTKRadiant is based on Q3Radiant that is nothing less than the official editor used by the original ID team when they built Quake III.

I did only some programmer art with Q3Radiant, but after getting used with the (weird) editor commands, I thought it was somewhat productive (!?!?)

What happens is that as a general rule, games editors are a bit restrict, as games still require extremely optimized worlds / characters etc. So it is very difficult to make a "general editing" tool like say, 3DSMax to build your levels.

Obviously it will change with time as well...

Good luck.

I'm pretty sure that a good deal of mod teams have created their own levels from scratch using GTKRadiant...
