Those games probably have copyrights, so what you are asking for is illegal. You need permission from the copyright holder in order to use their files.

nori99: I don't know of any tools for extracting such information and if any do exist they would be very game specific... Check some of the game mod scenes for such things.

It is perfectly legal to extract such information from copyright games (excluding some special cases in the US with the DMCA when circumventing copy protection technologies). It is what he does with it that may or may not be illegal.
For example, extracting such information and using it to test you engine's animation play capabilities _is_ legal. However, releasing a game (even a free ware one) with those animations is not.

Technically correct. You can't publish their material without permission. So if your intent is to extract it and never show it to anyone, then you are within you're legal rights.
