I have been looking into a good 2D game engine to waste time in thats programed in Visual Basic because its the only language i know. I found the engine DXgame and it had good reviews and features but when i try to download it wont start and direct links bring up the generic error page. all mirror sites i go to have the same problem. the latest news i have seen commenting on the engines status was its alive, back in 2006. so does anyone know if its a live project or have a working download link? or is it dead and not worth finding?
DXgame is dead?

Hi goldrd4,
The developer posted his contact email (dan@danpeverill.com) on the CodeProject page, so that might a good place to start. If you do find that the project is active, please post again here so I can add it to my database.
For other 2D/Visual Basic options, try my advanced search page, choosing Category -> 2D and Language/Scripting -> Visual Basic. I found 12 results, although one was in Spanish :) and another was specifically for side scrollers.
Cheers,
Tim

Have you considered learning a new programming language? If you know Visual Basic already, learning another is easier to do then starting from scratch.
